Concert-bound c-groupers get stuck in snow, hot-tub.

Lured by the promise of good music in an intimate venue and the opportunity for fun and fellowship, five friends set out on snowy roads Boulder-ward the evening of October 17, 2006.
“I thought everyone would bail, but I guess I didn’t realize how cool my friends were,” Greg said as Brianne drove her 4-wheel-drive Ford approaching the interstate.
Conversations of most unusual jobs, worst dates, and more filled the fog-filled vehicle as it inched north. After driving about 20 miles in 2 hours, the group decided to exit the interstate and find an alternate route, which proved to be more slick and snow-packed. Passing many cars in ditches and getting stuck behind stalled and wheel-spinning cars, someone in the vehicle made the command decision to turn back and the rest agreed it was likely the wise thing to do. Brianne offered swimsuits and a hot-tub at her parent’s home in Glen Eagle. Satisfied after gobbling up her mom’s apple pie, the five twentysomethings skidded over a snowy deck and into the steamy water. When they warmed up, they ventured back into the snow—Greg a belly dive into the plentiful flakes, Kris a snow-covered trampoline jump, and Jamie, a side-swipe mermaid maneuver. The frolicking didn’t occur without casualties—Carrie’s stubbed, possibly broken toe, and ice thrown in Brianne’s eyes, plus a snow-person growing on top of her head. Though disappointed they didn’t reach their destination for the evening, Jamie summed it up by saying, “That had to be worth at least $20” [the cost of each concert ticket].
