Concert-bound c-groupers get stuck in snow, hot-tub.

Lured by the promise of good music in an intimate venue and the opportunity for fun and fellowship, five friends set out on snowy roads Boulder-ward the evening of October 17, 2006.
“I thought everyone would bail, but I guess I didn’t realize how cool my friends were,” Greg said as Brianne drove her 4-wheel-drive Ford approaching the interstate.
Conversations of most unusual jobs, worst dates, and more filled the fog-filled vehicle as it inched north. After driving about 20 miles in 2 hours, the group decided to exit the interstate and find an alternate route, which proved to be more slick and snow-packed. Passing many cars in ditches and getting stuck behind stalled and wheel-spinning cars, someone in the vehicle made the command decision to turn back and the rest agreed it was likely the wise thing to do. Brianne offered swimsuits and a hot-tub at her parent’s home in Glen Eagle. Satisfied after gobbling up her mom’s apple pie, the five twentysomethings skidded over a snowy deck and into the steamy water. When they warmed up, they ventured back into the snow—Greg a belly dive into the plentiful flakes, Kris a snow-covered trampoline jump, and Jamie, a side-swipe mermaid maneuver. The frolicking didn’t occur without casualties—Carrie’s stubbed, possibly broken toe, and ice thrown in Brianne’s eyes, plus a snow-person growing on top of her head. Though disappointed they didn’t reach their destination for the evening, Jamie summed it up by saying, “That had to be worth at least $20” [the cost of each concert ticket].

It was a Grand old time!

A little late, but here are some pics from our fantabulous trip to "More Different Crack, USA". For more fun stories, begin by asking Brent what he means by the ever-philosophical question: "Noun spoon, or verb spoon?"

That's one Grand Canyon!

Matt and Brent aren't sure how that stretch could POSSIBLY be comfortable.

According to Brent, spreading out like this would be the safest way to fall.

"Smile, your butt will show it!"

At the Four Corners...one of the stops on a LONG (but absolutely hilarious) drive home.

Flourish

Here's a pic of the members of our group who attended Gwen's dance performance Saturday night (sans Culp, who was off flirting with some other girls). Good times!

hindsight

Ok folks, so Wenesday night was fantabulous (you guys pretty much bless my socks off). It's amazing to hear all that came to light just in reviewing those first few chapters of Isaiah (Matt- we talked about chapters 1-4). Since we talked about so many different things in the process, I'd love to hear what stuck with you the most (so I am not just stuck with my own limited memory). Personally, I've been continuing to ponder the idea of how men and women bring out eachother's strength and beauty. It reminds me that maintaining a godly view of beauty- seeking to pursue and portray it as the Father intended- plays into the way that I honor and build up the fellas in the body of Christ. Much thinking remains to be done...

Anyway, what did YOU walk away with? Leave a comment or add your own post!

Happy Birthday Karen!

Here's a shout-out for Karen's birthday (the 3rd)! Make sure and give thanks today for our returned African wanderer (who makes a pretty friggin' amazing roommate, in case you were wondering)!
